OK, It's Dec. 1 and I'm officially in the Christmas spirit! The first person to identify what this thing IS will receive a Christmas gift in the mail from me. Our (Italian) family made this 2 years ago...each of us made a piece of it. My hubby made the "stained glass" lighted window. We had no idea what it would look like until everyone brought their piece and it all got put together. Do you know what it IS??? Leave your answer in a comment!

ceppo! italian christmas tree!!!
Your heritage tells me that it is indeed, an Italian Christmas Tree...but then I'm usually not good at guessing....whatever it is, I love it's simplicity and how it tells the story of Christmas. Beautiful.

It's for advent. An advent tree?
Well we have a winner! Christy is exactly right...this is a Ceppo! Go to www.Italiansrus.com and see an explanation. Thanks for your guesses! If you look down my sidebar of pictures, you will see me and my sis-in-law clicking our pieces of coal together. Instead of a little gift, we got coal...can you imagine THAT? All in good fun...This was a lot of fun for our family to do...like I said, we had no idea how it would all come together as we each were assigned a piece of it! Years ago, both of my brothers lived in Italy while serving in the military...one brother has gone back several times and has made friends with distant cousins. Christy, you'll have to email me your address there in England! Soon! Love you!
Jacquelyn, thanks so much for stopping in at my blog! Always fun to meet new people. This is the first ceppo I've ever seen -- have never even heard that term before so you've educated me today! :)
Blessings to you!
I've learned something new! How very interesting, Jacquelyn!
