I only have one word to explain why it's taken me so long to write this post: exhaustion. (See previous post, "Creating Margin".) And I want to thank my friends who left comments and shared your own struggles on the subject. It really blessed me to know that you understood and sympathized without judging me negatively. I'm doing a little better and I have some white space on my calendar in the coming days. Our small group met last night and I am feeling the strength of the fellowship and prayers of local friends as well. So without further delay, please meet our newest family members!
This handsome dude is Wycliffe LaVeer Stager, our 5th grandchild! His parents are Andy & Ellie and they live in South Carolina. He made his grand entry into the world on Monday, March 28 at 5:35 p.m., weighing 8# 12 oz. and measuring 19 1/2 inches long. He is one day old in this photo and with those huge, intense eyes, he's obviously destined to be one of the world's greatest thinkers!
We brought the big brothers to see Wycliffe when
he was just about two hours old...
Grandma time was short but sweet. Wycliffe was much more interested in some nourishment. Brand new, and already he's got the dominant male Stager trait: "I want food!"
We arrived in SC on the Friday afternoon before Wycliffe was born. Andy & Ellie got to go on one last date before the new one arrived, and we got to spend quality time with the other boys. Saturday and Sunday went at a nice pace as we enjoyed the family time, and alternated resting and doing a few activities. By Monday morning, Andy & Ellie were on their way to the hospital and the excitement REALLY began to build! We were so happy to learn that the new baby would arrive before we had to leave to go home on Tuesday morning!
And we did need to leave that next morning as soon as we dropped the big brothers off at their Pre-School. We had a full day of driving ahead of us and Wednesday would prove to be another blessed day in the grandbaby department.

Isn't she lovely? This precious package, our 6th grandbaby, arrived at 10:32 am on Wednesday March 30. She weighed 7# 9 oz and measured 20" long. Her name is Eva Raye Stager. She belongs to Sam and Joanna, and her big sister is Elylah and big brother is Ethan. Another princess to pamper and love!
Ethan seems to be coming to grips with the realization that he is no longer the baby of the family!
So...just in case anyone is calculating, our two newest grandchildren arrived about 41 hours and 500 miles apart! And we were able to welcome both of them within a few hours of their births! Both families are doing very well and we are so proud of all of them!

These two (well, ALL 5 of 'em) are so adorable! "Exhaustion" is quite understandable :)
I'm really glad to hear that you're making progress and finding company and support in your efforts toward creating margins.
What beautiful babies! I'm so happy for you that you were able to be with them.
Congratulations and Congratulations again!
How blessed you are.
They are both such incredibly beautiful babies, Jacque! And to think you were able to take care of the older siblings and see both babies when they were so new ... what blessings!
What a blessing!!! I am so glad you visit me today and that I came to visit your blogs as well. Two grandchildren in 41 hours is a blessing, but to be able to go and welcome both is even a greater blessing.
May the glory of the Lord continue to shine on you and your lovely family :)
