Getting ready for Christmas and having so much fun!

Here are just a couple of recent photos of what's been going on at my house. Enjoy!

Elylah helped decorate the tree last week...

finding a pretty angel in the box...

Thirty three years worth of ornaments!

Ethan takes it all in!

And decides he doesn't want to be left out!

Found these plaster ornaments at JoAnn Fabrics for only 33 cents each...

First we painted them, then added the glitter and a clear finishing spray

Yesterday we decorated pre-baked gingerbread cookies, which I bought at the end of the season last year for about 80% off the original price...

I was amazed at how easy it was to do, and a lot of fun...

As soon as I got the mess cleaned up, Elylah decided we should do the tree, too!

Today we will wrap some of Elylah's ornaments for gifts, and also make some candy-filled "crackers" with empty toilet paper rolls! (http://mistressofmydomain.blogspot.com/2009/12/couple-random-ideas-for-holidays.html)
And now I need to go put some Christmas music on!

What's going on at your house??

It was good to peek in and see the good times & lovely tree at your house. Here? Lots of red candles & white lights up the stairway. Small trees here and there, but I'm not putting up a big one this year. I'm unpacking several nativity sets I displayed at our church's Nativity Open House last week and am looking for just the right places to put them around the house. Cookie baking tomorrow for cookie exchange during Sunday School class this Sunday...Viewing tonight for the husband of a dear friend from Bible study.

The most beautiful thing in these pictures is the joy on the children's faces!

Looks like Elylah had a fun week at Gramma's. I could see a distinct difference in the Gingerbread men decorated by the two of you! :) Ethan looked really sweet on the stairs, just watching.
I spent part of my day buying 24 lbs. of powdered sugar and 32 ounces of meringue powder for our local library. My daughter is the children's librarian and they are having their annual Gingerbread House Making Event this week.
I'm also trying not to get blown away by all these high winds we're having...I guess winter is here!

Enjoy the holidays Jacquelyn,
Wanda

How precious. I think the angel in the box pales in comparison to Elylah! It looks like you all were having great fun. Thank you for sharing this glimpse into your Christmas fun!
Hugs,
Rose

What fun you must have had!!! I looked at the tree wondering how it's going to go here with a new cat in the house...one that can be a wild child at moments!

Hi Jacque!

Your Grands are so very precious!
I love all the photos and agree with the above comments...sure wish I could come over and create some Christmas!

Oh, your tree looks very similar to ours. We have 32 years of whimsical ornaments as well! A ferry boat because we lived on an island in WA State, a cowboy boot because we spent 2+ years in Austin, TX, several angels because I used to collect them and a porcelain duck because we used to raise ducklings.
So wish you could come over for a cup of tea!

Talk soon.

Shirley, we're in the same boat--you with a new cat and me with a one yr old grandbaby who is enthralled with the tree. I'm doing everything "simple" this year so as not to stress. Next year he won't be pulling and touching everything as much. Can't wait to see pics of your kitty and all the shananigans!
